Our favorite iPhone Usenet reader just got even better. Easynews members now have access to a free version of EZ Global Search. The free iOS app is on iTunes under the name EZ Global Search Lite. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that are in the paid ($2.99) version but it’s great for those seeking a free alternative. You can search for content, preview and add items to Easynews Zip Manager. Visit iTunes to download it free.
You’ll need Easynews web access to use EZ Global Search Lite. If you’re not already a member you can sign up for a 14 day free trial. Then download the free Easynews iOS client from iTunes.
Both the free (Lite) and premium version of EZ Global Search are available for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The latest version has been optimized for iPhone 5 users. Allowing you to take advantage of the larger screen size. Let’s take a look at what you can do with the free version – EZ Global Search Lite:
- Search by Keyword
- View results with thumbnails for image and video files
- Click a thumbnail to view the full sized image (video thumbnails too!)
- Email image to friends or Save them to your iOS photo gallery
- Select multiple files (up to 5 files with the LITE version) and send them to the Zip Manager (upgrade to the full version for unlimited zipping)
- Zip Manager Tab lets you easily view your queued files in an iOS friendly format or using Easynews’ Web view
- Post detail screen displays all available data for each file type including:
– Audio: duration, bit rate, sample rate, ability to play audio sample, file size, and more.
– Video: duration, bit rate, sample rate, resolution, ability to view video thumbnail screens, file size, and more.
